1. John Longbottom

    John previously worked in the Business Support Unit at Lloyds Banking Group as part of a team dedicated to working with corporate customers under trading and financial pressure, with the aim to effect change within the business and to retain the customer within the Bank's normal service.

    In the past John has worked within the Bank's Commercial and Retail banking services and, in total, has served 25 years with the Bank.  John was also a Trustee of the Leeds Library, fulfilling the role of Treasurer, and previously a volunteer with DIAL Leeds (Disability, Information and Advice Line) providing financial management information to the Chief Officer and Auditor.

  2. Roy Knowles

    Roy is a qualified Chartered Accountant and a Chartered Tax Advisor.  In 2006 he set up his own consultancy firm, Laurem Consulting.  Prior to this he was a VAT partner in an international firm of Chartered Accountants and advised a number of the country’s largest housing associations.  Roy is the chief editor and co-author of the publication VAT for Social Housing.

    Roy is a Quality Assurance Manager for the Chartered Institute of Taxation.  Prior to joining the Together Housing Group, Roy spent 9 years on the Board of St Vincent’s Housing Association, initially as Chair of the Audit Committee and then as Chair of the Association.

    Roy was formerly a local Councillor in Rossendale, where he was Chair of the Audit and Accounts Committee, Chair of Rosso Buses and a member of the East Lancs Railway Board.

  3. Laura Rawnsley

    Laura’s background is in IT in Business Change, primarily in the Local Public Sector. Laura was Head of IT at Kirklees Council where she gained experience within a large complex IT environment of delivering transformation aligned to the business vision, alongside managing significant risks. Laura remains active in the IT profession as an Examiner in Business Analysis for BCS, the Chartered Institute of IT.

    Laura’s earlier career was in Social Housing and Welfare Rights, working within both the public and voluntary sectors. Laura is an Independent Board member of Berneslai Homes and a member of the Audit Committee as well as Chair of the Customer Services Committee. She also has experience as a non-executive director within the commercial, social care and community arts sectors.

  4. Martin Gore

    Martin is a highly experienced Finance Director, who retired in January 2015 as Director of Corporate Services at Humberside Probation Trust, to pursue a career as a non executive director, and expand his interests in creative writing.

    He is currently a Non Executive Director of Hull & East Yorkshire NHS Trust, and is also Chair of the Audit Committee there.

    Coventry born, his first job was as an Office Junior at Jaguar.  His career developed in the car industry, followed by a number of private sector manufacturing companies, largely SME’s.  This included a successful management buyout. More latterly he has worked in both charities and the public sector.

  5. Paul Redfern

    A Certified and Chartered Internal Auditor and Director of Finance with over 30 years’ experience, specialising in the design and delivery of first class governance solutions to organisations in the private and public sectors, nationally and internationally.

    A proven track record of aligning governance processes and providing deeper and broader assurance to key stakeholders, offering sound professional experience in areas of audit, fraud and risk management.

  6. Paul Waring

    Paul is a Chartered Accountant, with an honours degree in Civil and Structural Engineering.  He has over 30 years’ experience in audit and risk, gained across a wide range of sectors and businesses.

    For the past ten years, Paul has worked primarily in social housing, initially as an external provider of risk and internal audit services to a range of housing associations in the North of England and latterly as Director of Assurance at one of the largest providers of social housing in the UK.

    Paul is currently a Board Member of Weaver Vale Housing Trust, and is Chair of their Group Audit and Assurance Committee.  He has also recently spent 9 years on the Audit Committees of York St John University and the Royal Northern College of Music.

  7. Steve Hepworth

    Steve has over 20 years experience in social housing and has worked in both local authorities and housing associations. Over the years his roles have included rent collection, estate management, debt recovery, repairs and a variety of management positions.

    Steve headed up the customer consultation that led to the creation of North Lincolnshire Homes and, as Director of Housing, his team modernised customer relations including establishing a new customer contact centre and new customer office which have transformed customer interactions.

    Since April 2018 Steve has been Chief Executive of Ongo
