Together Housing Group have been formally recognised for our outstanding commitment to inspire and upskill the people of Lancashire by becoming a member of the Lancashire Skills Pledge. We continue to actively undertake all seven of the pledge areas outlined in the membership criteria.
Run by the Lancashire Skills and Employment Hub the Lancashire Skills Pledge is a growing network of businesses that are working to invest in the skills of people living and working in Lancashire whilst also supporting existing staff.
Group Director of People at Together Housing Group, Nigel Jones said: “Becoming part of the Lancashire Skills Pledge is a demonstrable way to showcase that we are committed to our local community. The seven pledges are something that we have been doing for a long time and by becoming a member of the Lancashire Skills Pledge we are reaffirming that we will continue to do so.”
The seven pledges are, volunteer an hour or more in your local community, become an enterprise adviser in a school or college mentoring and advising young people, offer industry placement and work experience opportunities, recruit an apprentice, help previous apprentices to become ambassadors championing the benefits of an apprenticeship, tailor existing training programmes to support unemployed people back into work and fund and support staff to upskill.
Lisa Moizer, Lancashire Skills Pledge Manager said “We are delighted that an organisation such as, Together Housing Group has become our Lancashire Skills Pledge member and we welcome them to our growing network of over 100 businesses committed to the people of Lancashire. Training existing staff, our youth and those out of employment will benefit businesses and the local community and economy, helping us to retain talent within the Lancashire region whilst bettering the lives of our local communities.”
The pledge requires businesses to already be undertaking one or more of the seven pledges or show a serious commitment to take up a pledge.
